What exactly does a Nutritional Therapist do?

The quick answer… I work closely with you to unravel the root causes of your eczema, acne, psoriasis or other skin condition. I then address these with nutrition and lifestyle changes.


Sounds kind of simple doesn't it? But the reality is far different. So here’s the longer answer.


We are a finely tuned set of systems (digestive, cardiovascular, respiratory... to name a few). Ideally these would all work in sync with each other. However if one or more of these systems are a bit out of kilter it can have a knock on effect on the others. In my clients this often presents as skin concerns such as acne, eczema or psoriasis. The challenge is that each of us is unique. Not just in our DNA, but unique in terms of our upbringing, lifestyle, diet and environment. So what’s causing your skin to flare will be a totally different reason to why someone else’s is. I can’t just take a one size fits all approach I need to address you as an individual. ⁣⁣


It's why when I see you I won't just ask you what you've eaten. I want to know your sleep habits, how you manage your stress, even what your poop habits are (yes you read that right).

Through an in-depth 90 minute consultation I will get to know you and start to build a picture of where your body systems may need some support. ⁣⁣

Nutritional therapy is not a quick fix solution. It likely took a few years for your skin condition to develop so I work with you over a period of 3-6 months to fully embed new ways of eating and living into your daily routine for life.⁣⁣

And if you are worried I'm going to make you cut out loads of foods and never eat cake again... that's not what I'm about at all. I want you to enjoy food as much as I do! So my goal is simple. It's to help you address your skin concerns from the inside out by taking you through my 3-step approach ⁣⁣

2. Restore any imbalances in your body systems⁣

3. Relax and take time out for you⁣
